Training on Refrigerant Alternatives and Good Operational Practices for Refrigeration and Freezing Equipment
release time:2026-03-19 13:08:26
From March 13 to 15, 2026, the “Training on Refrigerant Alternatives and Good Practices for Refrigeration Equipment” was successfully held at Snowman Group’s headquarters in Fuzhou. The program was organized by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), under the supervision and guidance of the Foreign Environmental Cooperation Center of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment (FECO), and hosted by the Chinese Association of Refrigeration (CAR).

The training aims to support the early phase-out of hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs) in line with relevant policies, while enhancing management and operational standards across the refrigeration industry. It is also the only UNEP-designated program of its kind in the Asia-Pacific region.
Opening Speech for the Training Session

The program was tailored for Snowman Group’s frontline engineers and customer engineers, focusing on key topics such as safe operation of ammonia systems, efficient maintenance of fluorinated refrigerant systems, and standardized practices in refrigeration system operation.

Combining theoretical instruction with hands-on practice, participants attended expert-led sessions and engaged in practical training at Snowman Group’s compressor manufacturing workshop. The program also included a site visit to a cold chain project—Fuqing Fengda Group Logistics Cold Storage—offering in-depth insights into the technical requirements and real-world performance of natural refrigerant systems.
Through this training, Snowman Group further strengthened its capabilities in natural refrigerants and green refrigeration, providing strong support for improving engineers’ technical competence and promoting the industry’s transition toward low-carbon and sustainable development.
About the Organizers
Against the backdrop of China’s “dual carbon” goals, the adoption of natural refrigerants has become a key pathway for achieving carbon neutrality in the refrigeration sector. Through continuous technical training and capacity building, Snowman is accelerating the practical implementation of green refrigeration technologies.
